Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about bike fitting, performance testing, coaching and booking.
A bike fit (bikefit) is the professional adjustment of your riding position to your body measurements, flexibility and riding style. With a properly done bike fit, pedaling efficiency increases; knee, lower back and neck pain and hand numbness are prevented; you can ride comfortably for longer, and the risk of injury is reduced.
A bike fit benefits cyclists of every level: riders with a new bike, long-distance riders, anyone with knee, back or neck pain or hand numbness, athletes who want to improve their performance, riders preparing for races and recreational cyclists looking for more comfort. In short, anyone who rides regularly can benefit from a bike fit.
A professional bike fit session usually takes 2–3 hours. During the session, body measurements are taken, flexibility and range of motion are assessed, your current position and pedaling motion are analysed, and the saddle, handlebars and other components are adjusted. At the end, you receive your personal fit values and our recommendations.
A bike fit is not a permanent setting, because your body and equipment change over time. A new fit is recommended when you buy a new bike, change your saddle or handlebars, increase your riding distance or training load, experience pain or injury, or see a significant change in body weight or flexibility. In general, a check every 1–2 years is recommended.
Yes. With the right riding position, the power you put into the pedals is transferred more efficiently, so you can ride faster or longer with the same effort. Especially in long-distance and race-focused riding, a bike fit can noticeably improve performance.
No special equipment is needed. Since the settings are applied to your own bike, simply bring your bike and your cycling shoes.
In most cases, a bike fit reduces or eliminates the majority of riding-related pain. Sometimes, however, the cause is a separate orthopedic or musculoskeletal issue; in such cases our bike fit specialist will point you in the right direction.
You take the test on your own bike: it is mounted on the measuring device, and your VO₂max, FTP (functional threshold power), sprint capacity and heart rate values are measured. Your training zones are determined from the results.
First, your coach reviews your performance test results with you. Then they build your personal training plan around your work, private life, goals and the time slots that suit you. As you train, you stay in touch with your coach, and after 8 weeks you retest to measure your progress.
